Donnie Darko, director's cut

LOS ANGELES, California (Hollywood Reporter) -- "Donnie Darko," a cult drama starring Jake Gyllenhaal as a disturbed teenager, is getting a new theatrical release, featuring 20 minutes of never-before-seen footage.

Newmarket Films, which released the film in 2001, is unveiling a director's cut at the Seattle Film Festival on May 29. It plans to release the film theatrically in Seattle before moving into other markets later in the summer.

You Seattleites are required to check this out and report back to me!

If I can trust this interview with Richard Kelly, we've actually seen some of the 20 minutes before as DVD deleted scenes (but not all).

Do we get to see Sparkle Motion dance to West End Girls now instead of Notorious? The new music may be the best part of this for me.

Oh! I am so glad that I'm working SIFF again this year! I'll be sure to get tickets to see that if I don't get a free pass right off the bat anyways. :) Yes!
