Planetarium

In response to a strange itch, I'm going through Planetarium again. This is a wonderful puzzle-story, and as you get access to a new chapter once a week, it's fun to go through it with people who are at about the same stage you are.

Check it out. If it inspires you, register and we'll go through it together. Yeah, I know or knew all the solutions, but the story and the graphics are just so worthwhile on their own I want to see them all again.

Yay! It only takes a few, but recruit more if you like.

Maybe e-mail's better once we've started, or maybe I should do weekly LJ posts. Not sure.

Andy! Man, I gotta look at my friends-of list more often. How excellent.

I'm registered too - looks fascinating!! I'll be away for a couple of weeks in March, so I may end up a bit behind the rest of you all, though.

For anybody who's interested, and so that claudia_ doesn't have to clutter her journal, there's now the Planetarium Community. It's open membership, which means you just have to follow the link and click to sign up.

I'd recommend that when you post in there it's friends-only, so people wandering by won't see the solutions, but it's really not up to me in the long run. ;)

Thanks, Aoife! I'm a bit worried about that idea, though.

I notice that solutions to Planetarium are not (easily, anyway) findable by Google, and I'd hate to be the first to sort of break the seal and put solutions Out There. If we can agree that we'll zap all the posts in the community after we're done rather than leaving them up for posterity (are you the maintainer?) then it'd be useful, but otherwise I'd rather work in my journal where I know I have that option.

I may make them private memories in my own journal after that point, but I have no problems with zapping the community after the 13 weeks are up.

If a new group of puzzlers show up, they can start over themselves -- the comm's meant more to be a gathering place than a showcase, really.

That's part of why I'd recommend FO posts even with plans to zap the entries at the end of the 3 months or so, and I'm still thinking about putting it back to closed membership for the moment -- spiders shouldn't be able to find the posts if they're not linked, and if they're FO then nobody who isn't part of the comm already can see them anyway.
